Our Clients...
We work with independent-minded people who take an active interest in their finances, but also value professional advice. They don't want to just turn everything over to someone else, but they recognize that they can't do it all by themselves either... usually because they're too busy, or because they recognize that they don't have the expertise to make all of the decisions on their own.
We don't have a "typical" client profile, and work with both middle-income and upper-income individuals and families. Some clients have already accumulated significant assets and are approaching retirement, while others are just starting to invest and plan for the future. Client "financial experience" and sophistication varies from "very high" to "hardly any".
We do find that many of our clients are often asking very similar questions. If any of these sound familiar to you, we'll be happy to help you answer them:
- How should my investments be allocated? What are the best options in my 401(k) plan?
- How much do I need to save for retirement, and where should I put it?
- Can I really afford to retire now? How do I make sure that my money lasts as long as I do?
- Once I'm retired, how do I manage my money so that it can provide me with a "paycheck" during retirement?
- I have a traditional pension. Should I take the monthly annuity, or take the Lump Sum and roll it to an IRA? If I take the lump sum, what do I do with it?
- What's the best way to save and pay for my children's college education?
- Do I have the right kinds of insurance, and the right amounts?
- What's the most effective way to contribute to charity today? When I pass away?
- How should I handle my employer stock options or restricted stock positions?
- What happens to my estate, and how do I make sure family members are provided for when I die? Are my beneficiary designations, and my account and property titling appropriate?
- How do I balance the competing demands of saving for retirement, paying for my kids' college, and helping to support my elderly parents?
